Each Explorer Case undergoes a rigorous series of controlled laboratory tests to ensure suitability for the most extreme and hazardous conditions. They are certified to meet standards such as IP67 Dustproof - Waterproof, Defence Standard 81-41 Level J, STANAG 4280 (Edition 2), and conform to Directive 2002/95/EC and MIL-STD 810F/810G, depending on the model.

The convoluted foam in the lid helps to firmly keep the stored equipment in place while the case is closed.
